Remove a configuration set assignment from OpenTelemetry Collectors

Stop sending an assigned configuration set to one or more OpenTelemetry Collector agents.

Before you remove a configuration set assignment, make sure that the following conditions are met:

  • OTel Collectors management is enabled in Splunk Enterprise.
  • At least one OTel Collector agent has a configuration set assigned.

Remove a configuration set assignment when collectors no longer need remote configuration from agent management. Removing an assignment does not delete the configuration set or the collector record.

  1. Log in to Splunk Enterprise, select the settings icon (Settings), and then, under the Distributed Environment section, select Agent management.
  2. From the left menu, select the OTel Collectors view.
  3. Choose the list of agents from which to remove the assignment.
  4. Select one or more OTel Collector agents that have a configuration set assigned.
    To narrow the list of collectors, use the table filters.
  5. Select Actions > Remove Configuration Set.
  6. In the remove confirmation window, review the agents that stop receiving the assigned configuration set.
  7. Select Remove.

The selected OTel Collector agents stop receiving the assigned configuration set after their next OpAMP check-in. The configuration set remains available for other collectors.
