Select Common Information Model data models

Review detected data groups and select the Common Information Model (CIM) data models that match your custom data.

Add sample data and wait for Guided Onboarding to finish analyzing it.

Guided Onboarding groups similar events and recommends the CIM data models for each group. Use the preview to compare detected fields with the required or expected CIM fields.

  1. On the Sample data analysis page, select a data group row.
  2. Review the group information pane.
  3. In the Data models section, select the CIM data models that match the selected data group.
  4. Select Preview to review how events map to the CIM fields.
  5. Review the CIM fields and missing fields tabs and close the preview.
  6. Review the source type name for the data group.
  7. Select Next.

You can review field extractions and mappings for the selected CIM data models.
