We renamed Data Manager to Data Inputs to better reflect our unified approach to data ingestion. While the name changed, all your existing configurations remain the same.

In Splunk 10.4 and later, a navigation panel consolidates Data Inputs and related features into a single location. From there, you can switch between pages and manage all your data from one place.

Data Inputs for Splunk Cloud Platform is an intuitive way to configure data ingestion across a variety of data sources. These data ingestion features include an intuitive UI, automation of prerequisites such as scripts to set up resources in the data source, functional intelligence relevant to the respective data source (for example, multiple accounts support in the AWS data source), and index-time transformation.

Service limits and constraints

Data Inputs has the following limitations.

  • One data account cannot be used in multiple data inputs while onboarding multiple AWS accounts.
  • One data account cannot be used in multiple data inputs while onboarding a single AWS account.
