Application Dashboard for Log Observer Connect

The application flow map provides a visualization of the services used in a specific application.

To view the application logs in Splunk Enterprise, on the AppDynamics Controller UI:

  1. Navigate to Home > Applications .
    • Select the application from the frequently visited application list or search for the specific application under Search All Applications.
    • Navigate to Applications > <application name> > Details .
  2. Select the time range for which you require the log details.
  3. Click View Logs in Splunk.
    Note: If the View Logs in Splunk button is disabled, then there are no logs during the selected time range. Change the time range and check if the button is enabled.

This opens a new tab with the Splunk Enterprise UI where you can view the logs in-context of the application and the selected time range. The selected application is added as a search query on the Splunk Enterprise UI.

For example, in Splunk Enterprise, you can view the following logs related to the application.

Warning: When you navigate to Splunk Enterprise by using the View Logs in Splunk button, you might not view all the log results as per the search query. The search query may contain indexes for which you might have access restriction based on your assigned role. If you want to view such logs, contact your Splunk administrator.
