Initialize the pipelines workspace before using the Data Management Service API

Initialize the tenant's pipelines workspace in the Splunk Data Management UI before creating your first Edge Processor pipeline through the Data Management Service API.

Sign in to the Splunk Cloud Services tenant as a user who can access the Pipelines page.

This is a one-time setup for each tenant. Opening the Pipelines page alone does not initialize the workspace. You must start creating an Edge Processor pipeline and wait for the pipeline editor to open.

  1. Open the Pipelines page: https://px.<environment>.scs.splunk.com/<tenant>/data-management/pipelines.
  2. Select New pipeline > Edge Processor.
  3. Wait for the pipeline editor to open.
Opening the editor initializes the pipelines workspace.
  4. Leave the editor without saving or deploying the pipeline.
You don't need to create an actual pipeline.
  5. Retry the Data Management Service API request to create the Edge Processor pipeline.
The tenant's pipelines workspace is initialized, and you can retry the first Edge Processor pipeline creation request through the Data Management Service API.
