What's new in Splunk AI Assistant for SPL

Here's what's new in each version of Splunk AI Assistant.

Version 2.0.0

Features and improvements:

  • Version 2.0.0 includes Agent Mode. Agent Mode allows for agentic response generation in the assistant. This version of Agent Mode is limited to Splunk Cloud Platform customers in supported AWS regions. For more information see Agent Mode in Splunk AI Assistant.

  • Starting with version 2.0.0 the Personalization feature has changed its name to Context. Administrators also now have more granular options for what context data is used. Context settings can be found on the Settings page of the app, under a dedicated tab. For more information see Context in Splunk AI Assistant.

  • For both new installations and upgrades to version 2.0.0 Model Runtime is on by default. For more information see Model Runtime in Splunk AI Assistant.

  • Splunk AI Assistant now offers limited support on IL 2 FedRAMP deployments. For more information see Install Splunk AI Assistant for Splunk Cloud customers.

  • To reflect expanded capabilities that go beyond SPL creation and explanation, Splunk AI Assistant for SPL is changing its name to Splunk AI Assistant. You might still see instances of the former name while this change is being implemented across our documentation and other content and assets.

  • Changes have been made to what anonymized data Splunk AI Assistant sends Splunk Inc. For more information see AI service data in Splunk AI Assistant for SPL.

  • Support for the following AWS regions: Milan, UAE, Seoul, Mumbai.

    • These newly supported regions can be leveraged by Splunk Cloud customers in those regions, and also be used by Splunk Enterprise customers through Cloud Connected.

  • You can streamline the Cloud-Connected onboarding experience and back end setup process with a tenant code submission webpage and SFDC report that collects submissions.
  • Support for search head clusters with detailed steps on how to setup, upgrade, and uninstall the assistant.
