Install the Splunk Operator using Helm
Manage the Splunk Operator lifecycle using the splunk/splunk-operator Helm chart.
Install, upgrade, and uninstall the Splunk Operator using the splunk/splunk-operator Helm chart. Each operation supports custom configuration through Helm value overrides. For more information on configurable values, see splunk/splunk-operator values.
View configurable values for the chart using the following command:
helm show values splunk/splunk-operator
Install the Splunk Operator
Install the Splunk Operator using one of the following methods.
Use a new_values.yaml file to override default values:
helm install -f new_values.yaml <RELEASE_NAME> splunk/splunk-operator -n <RELEASE_NAMESPACE>
Or use the Helm CLI directly to set values:
helm install --set <KEY>=<VALUE> <RELEASE_NAME> splunk/splunk-operator -n <RELEASE_NAMESPACE>
The following example installs the Splunk Operator with the release name splunk-operator-test in the splunk-operator namespace:
helm install splunk-operator-test splunk/splunk-operator -n splunk-operator
Expected output:
NAME: splunk-operator-test
LAST DEPLOYED: Tue Aug 23 12:47:57 2022
NAMESPACE: splunk-operator
STATUS: deployed
REVISION: 1
TEST SUITE: None
Verify the operator pod is running:
NAME READY STATUS RESTARTS AGE
splunk-operator-controller-manager-xxxx-xxxx 1/1 Running 0 2m14s
Use the helm list -n <namespace> command to retrieve all deployed releases.

Uninstall the Splunk Operator
To remove the Splunk Operator, uninstall the Helm release.
helm uninstall <RELEASE_NAME> -n <RELEASE_NAMESPACE>
The following example uninstalls the splunk-operator-test release:
helm uninstall splunk-operator-test -n splunk-operator
Expected output:
release "splunk-operator-test" uninstalled
