Allow online updates for Splunk Edge Hub OS
With online updates, you can do the following:
- Get notifications when there's a new Splunk Edge Hub OS firmware version available.
- Update your device from the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app or the device itself.
This feature is turned off by default. Turn on the feature to perform online updates.
Requirements
This feature requires The Splunk Edge Hub OS version 1.6.0 or higher and the Splunk App for Edge Hub and AR version 1.6.0 or higher.
Steps
Navigate to Edge Settings to turn on online updates.
A dedicated modular input periodically checks for newer versions of Splunk Edge Hub OS. When a new version is available, a notification appears in the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app and in the Settings section of your Splunk Edge Hub devices.
Turning on online updates does not automatically update your Splunk Edge Hub device. You or another user must initiate the update in the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app or on the device itself. See Update Splunk Edge Hub OS online to learn how to perform an online update.
