Plot metrics using the plot builder
Using the plot builder, you can plot metrics in Splunk Observability Cloud.
Select the Builder option in the Data scope section to display metrics on your charts. Select Add metric to select the data you want to add to your chart.
Once you've selected a signal, you need to determine the scope of what you want to look at. Splunk Observability Cloud allows you to filter down the signal using metrics metadata. For example, you might want to look at the latencies for a service, but only for the production environment. In Splunk Observability Cloud, the latency is your metric, and the service and environment names are both likely to be part of the metadata associated with the metric. Select Add filters to filter your data by specific values, which populate in the preview for your chart.
Finally, add analytics to your plot to adapt the data based on your business needs. Select Add analytics to see the list of available functions. You can configure advanced options by selecting the cog icon in the table. To learn more about supported analytics, see Analytics reference for Splunk Observability Cloud.
