Migration Analytics dashboard

The Migration Analytics Dashboard provides an overview of migration progress, application status, artifact counts, and migrated artifact types.

The Migration Analytics dashboard provides a real-time, high-level overview of your entire migration journey from Splunk AppDynamics to Splunk Observability Cloud. It aggregates data from all migration jobs and displays key metrics, including overall progress percentage, application migration status, artifact migration counts, and a breakdown of migrated artifact types.

The dashboard auto-populates with data from your configured source connections and completed migration jobs, giving you an at-a-glance view of how far your migration has progressed.

If the system migrates an artifact more than once, the dashboard uses the most recent migration result for its counts. Earlier migration attempts are not counted separately.

Use Migration Analytics dashboard

Review migration progress, application status, artifact counts, and migrated artifact types on the Migration Analytics Dashboard.

  1. Navigate to Analytics in the left navigation panel.
  2. Review the Overall Migration Progress percentage at the top to understand where you stand.
  3. Check the Applications card to see the number of applications in Migrated, Partially Migrated, or Pending status.
  4. Check the Artifacts card to see the aggregate artifact migration count and status.
  5. Review Artifact Types Migrated to identify which artifact categories need the most attention.
  6. Select the Refresh button to reload the dashboard after running new migration jobs.
Note:

Migrated counts represent applications and configuration artifacts that Migration Tool reports as successfully migrated. They do not represent historical metrics, traces, or logs. A migrated result does not confirm that the team operationally validated the resulting configuration in Splunk Observability Cloud.

Dashboard details

Reference information about migration progress, application and artifact status, artifact types, and dashboard notes.

The Migration Analytics dashboard displays four main sections arranged in a card-based layout. A refresh button in the top-right corner lets you reload the dashboard to reflect the latest data. The dashboard does not continuously update on its own. It loads the latest available summary when the page opens.

Overall migration progress

The top card displays the proportion of total artifacts that the system successfully migrated across all jobs.

The numerator counts fully migrated applications, health rules, HTTP templates, and dashboards. The denominator counts applications, health rules, HTTP templates, and dashboards, including both active and inactive items.

Note:

The dashboard displays items in Partially Migrated status separately and does not count them as fully migrated.

Applications card

The Applications card displays the migration status of applications discovered from your source Splunk AppDynamics Controllers.

Status Description

Migrated

Displays the number of applications whose artifacts the system fully migrated to Splunk Observability Cloud. The dashboard classifies an application as Migrated when the system fully migrates all its active health rules.

Partially Migrated

Displays the number of applications where the system migrated some artifacts but others remain pending or failed. These applications need further migration work. The dashboard classifies an application as Partially Migrated when the system fully or partially migrates at least one active health rule.

Pending

Displays the number of applications that failed, that users skipped or canceled, that remain inactive, or that the system has not migrated yet.

Artifacts card

The Artifacts card displays the overall artifact migration status across all applications.

Status Description

Migrated

Displays the number of artifacts such as Health Rules, dashboards, and HTTP Request Templates that the system migrated successfully. The dashboard classifies an artifact as Migrated when its latest migration result completed successfully.

Partially Migrated

Displays the number of artifacts that completed with warnings or partial success and might require manual review. The dashboard classifies an artifact as Partially Migrated when its latest migration result completed only partially.

Pending

Displays the number of artifacts that failed, that users skipped or canceled, that remain inactive, or that the system has not migrated yet.

Artifact types migrated

The Artifact Types Migrated section displays migration progress by artifact category.

Artifact type Description

Health Rules

Displays how many Health Rules the system migrated. The system translates Health Rules to Splunk Observability Cloud Detectors using SignalFlow.

HTTP Templates

Displays how many HTTP Request Templates the system migrated. The system translates HTTP Request Templates to Splunk Observability Cloud Webhook Integrations.

Dashboards

Displays how many dashboards the system migrated. The system translates dashboard widgets to Splunk Observability Cloud charts with SignalFlow queries.

Notes

  • The dashboard reflects previously collected migration data rather than performing a live source query every time the page loads.

  • Selecting Refresh runs the refresh in the background and might not update the data immediately.

  • The dashboard displays counts as an aggregated tenant-level view.

  • For re-migrations, the count uses only the latest result.

  • The dashboard does not show failed items in a separate category and includes them only in the pending count.
