Splunk AppDynamics On-Premises Virtual Appliance referred as Virtual Appliance, offers robust solution to package, deploy and operate the Splunk AppDynamics software. This is a self-hosted deployment that reduces the onboarding time by streamlining the process. Virtual Appliance packages compatible versions of Splunk AppDynamics services, such as, Controller, Events, and End User Monitoring. Splunk AppDynamics components are containerized and deployed as Kubernetes^®(K8s) services packaged with the Virtual Appliance image.

Virtual Appliance supports add-on features such as:

• Anomaly Detection and Root Cause Analysis that help you reduce the Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Identify (MTTI), see Anomaly Detection and Root Cause Analysis.
• Secure Application (CSA) that helps you to reduce the risk of security exposure, see Secure Application Services.

• OpenTelemetry is a collection of tools, APIs, and SDKs used to instrument, generate, collect, and export telemetry data (metrics, logs, and traces) to help you analyze software performance and behavior. See 「Splunk AppDynamicsOpenTelemetry」を参照してください。.

• Automated Transaction Diagnostics (ATD) allows you to be proactive rather than reactive for anomalous transaction behavior. ATD uses machine learning to capitalize on the collected snapshots by automatically recognizing anomalies not yet severe enough to trigger alerts but significant enough to cause future production issues. In seconds you have a prioritized list of causal factor transactions that you can use to manage problematic business transactions before they become visible production slowdowns or outages for your customers.

• You can integrate the Virtual Appliance with Splunk Enterprise to view application-specific logs from the Virtual Appliance directly in Splunk Enterprise. See Integrate Virtual Appliance with Splunk Enterprise.
