System requirements
Splunk Enterprise supports workload management on Linux operating systems only.
Supported Linux distributions

Supported cgroups version
Splunk Enterprise 9.4 and higher supports cgroups v2 for workload management on all Linux distributions that implement cgroups v2 by default, including:
- RHEL 9
- Ubuntu 22
- AL2023
Note: Splunk Enterprise version 9.4 and higher is enabled by default to detect and automatically switch to cgroups v2 on Linux operating systems that use cgroups v2.

Systemd version
Workload management requires systemd version 219 or higher.
Note: Systemd is not a mandatory requirement, but if systemd is running on your Linux system, it must be version 219 or higher.
