View OpenTelemetry Collectors in Splunk Enterprise

After you configure and connect OTel Collectors to Splunk Enterprise, you can view them in the OTel Collectors table. Use the table to monitor collector status, view assigned configuration sets, and open collector details.

  1. Log in to Splunk Enterprise.
  2. Select the settings icon (Settings), and then under the Distributed Environment section, select Agent management.

    The Agent management page opens.

  3. On the left menu, select the OTel Collectors view.
  4. On the Agent Management - OTel Collectors page, review the list of OTel Collectors. The table contains the following columns:

Capabilities The OpAMP capabilities that the collector reports, such as AcceptsRemoteConfig or ReportsRemoteConfig.
Check-In How long ago the agent sent its last heartbeat.

CPU Architecture The CPU architecture that the host system runs on, such as host.arch.
Environment The deployment environment reported by the collector.
Host Name The agent host name, such as host.name.
IP Address The agent IP address.
Namespace The agent namespace, such as service.namespace.
Remote Config Status The delivery status of the assigned configuration set.

System Description Human-readable operating system version information, such as os.description.
Version The agent application version, such as service.version.
  5. To review a collector, select the link in the Agent ID column.

The collector details page opens. Use the tabs to review different types of collector information:

    • Select the Details tab to review agent details, host details, identifying attributes, and non-identifying attributes. Agent details include the capabilities supported by the collector. Identifying attributes identify the collector. Non-identifying attributes describe where the collector runs.
    • Select the Effective configuration tab to view the configuration that the collector reports after it applies local settings, runtime overrides, and remote configuration.
    • Select the Remote Config tab to view the remote configuration assigned to the collector.
