Set up remote storage for App Framework

Prepare the remote storage volume for App Framework use.

Create unique folders on the remote storage volume and upload your Splunk app archive files.

  1. Create unique folders on the remote storage volume to use as App Source locations.

An App Source in each CRD is a folder on the remote storage volume containing a subset of Splunk apps and add-ons. For example, you can split the network and authentication Splunk Apps into different folders and name them networkApps and authApps.

  2. Copy your Splunk App or Add-on archive files to the unique folders on the remote storage.

For example, you can place the Splunk Apps at bucket-app-framework/Standalone-us/networkAppsLoc/ and bucket-app-framework/Standalone-us/authAppsLoc/. Ensure you can access all folders through the appropriate endpoint for your provider: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com for S3, https://mystorageaccount.blob.core.windows.net for Azure Blob, or https://storage.googleapis.com for GCP bucket.
