View Kubernetes group details

Review the current and revised Kubernetes group configurations, summary, deployment status, and matched collectors.

When you select a Kubernetes-based group from the Groups inventory list, the Group Details view opens. Unlike standalone host groups, a Kubernetes group manages collector configurations across three distinct workload roles: Cluster Receivers, Workload Agents, and Workload Gateways.

The Current tab displays the active, deployed configuration running across your fleet. You can filter the list by workload and cluster name.

Kubernetes group current details

The Revised tab appears when an administrator saves pending draft changes that have not yet been deployed. You can filter the list by workload only.

Kubernetes group revised details

The Current and Revised tabs provide a side-by-side comparison of the configuration running in your fleet and pending changes.

The group summary section provides a high-level overview of the group’s configuration, assigned templates, deployment status, and matched collectors.

The group details table provides the following information:

Column Description
Cluster name Displays the name of the Kubernetes cluster that matches the group filters.
Environment Displays the environment associated with the cluster, such as production, staging, or development.
Distribution version Shows the Splunk OpenTelemetry Collector distribution version reported by the cluster.
Connection status

Represents the health of the connection: whether the collector actively communicates with the server. It has two values: connected or disconnected.

Connected: The collector reported a heartbeat signal within the last period. The default period is 90 seconds.

Disconnected: The collector did not report a heartbeat signal within the last period. The default period is 90 seconds.

The system automatically removes collectors from the list if they do not send a heartbeat signal within five minutes.

Config ready

Determines whether the collector running on the host can be remotely configured. You can view one of the following statuses:

  • Remote ready: The collector can receive and apply remote configuration updates.

  • Reports remote config: The collector reports its remote configuration information to Fleet Management OpAMP Server but cannot receive or apply remote configuration updates.

  • No remote: The collector neither accepts nor reports remote configuration.

Last status check Shows the most recent time the system received a status update or heartbeat from the collector.
Template used Displays the template the group uses.
