Install and configure the appropriate Splunk Technical Add-on before you use Splunk Network Intelligence.

Splunk Network Intelligence uses Splunk apps and add-ons to collect data from supported Cisco-managed networking solutions:

Install and configure the relevant Splunk app or add-on so that its data is available in Splunk Network Intelligence. The details shown for each device, entity, or alert depend on data from its source. For more information, see Configure Splunk Network Intelligence.

Review network status

The homepage provides a global summary of the network, including geographic information and summaries by site or location.

  1. Open Splunk Network Intelligence.

  2. Review the global network summary.

  3. Review the geographic view.

  4. Review inventory, alerts, and health or status by site or location.

  5. Select a site or location to investigate its devices and alerts.

Find a device and review its details

The unified inventory displays devices and entities from all configured sources in one easy to filter list.
  1. Open the inventory.

  2. Search for a device or entity, or filter the list.

  3. Select a result to open its detail view.

The detail view includes the information available from the configured sources.

Investigate alerts

The Alerts dashboard provides an alert summary and lets you search and sort alerts.

  1. Open the Alerts dashboard.

  2. Search or sort the alerts. Select an alert to open its details.

  3. Review the impacted device or devices.

  4. Review the network topology context for the alert.

The available alert and topology details depend on data from your configured sources.
