Basic Authentication

If you want to use BASIC authentication:
  1. Select BASIC authentication type from the Type drop down.
  2. Specify the authentication username and password.

FIPS migration of existing Basic Authentication passwords

If the HTTP Request Template was created before FIPS mode was enabled, the stored authentication password might use a legacy encryption scheme that cannot be decrypted in FIPS mode.

The template loads normally, but the password field is empty because stored passwords are not displayed. Re-enter the authentication password and click Save. Test the HTTP Request Action or trigger a test event to verify that authentication succeeds.

After the password is saved, the Controller encrypts it with the FIPS-approved AES-256-GCM encryption scheme. If the password is not re-entered, HTTP Request Actions that use password-based authentication fail until the password is saved again.
