Health Rule Suppression

Use health rule suppression to temporarily suppress health rule evaluations for a specified time window.

Health Rule Suppression enables you to temporarily suppress health rule evaluations for a specified time window. During the suppression period, the selected health rules do not trigger health rule violations or associated actions — even if the underlying metric thresholds are breached.

Use this feature during planned maintenance windows, deployments, or known load events where you expect metric anomalies and want to prevent unnecessary alerting noise.

Learn how to view the configured health rule suppression.

To view the list of health rule suppression:
  1. Go to Alert & Respond > Actions from the left navigation menu.
  2. Select your application from the drop down menu.
  3. Click the Health Rule Suppression tab.

The Health Rule Suppression tab displays the list.

Create a Health Rule Suppression

Create a health rule suppression to temporarily suppress health rule evaluations for a specified time window.

To create a health rule suppression:
  1. Click the + Create button in the toolbar.
    The Create Health Rule Suppression dialog opens with two tabs: Overview and Health Rule Scope.
  2. Click the Overview tab and enter the following details:
    Field Description
    Name Enter a descriptive name for the suppression (e.g., "Health rule suppression test").
    Time Zone Select the time zone from the dropdown (e.g., "(GMT+05:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, …").
    Schedule Type Choose One Time or Recurring.
    • One Time schedule
      Use this option to suppress health rule evaluation for a single, fixed time window:
      Field Description
      Start Date Select the start date.
      Start Time Set the start time (e.g., 06:00 AM).
      End Date Select the end date.
      End Time Set the end time (e.g., 06:00 PM).

    • Recurring schedule
      Use this option to suppress health rule evaluation on a repeating basis. Select a recurrence frequency:
      Frequency Configuration
      Daily Set a Start Time and End Time. The suppression activates every day during that window.
      Weekly Select one or more days of the week (Sunday–Saturday), then set Start Time and End Time.
      Monthly — Specific date Set a Start Date (day of month, e.g., 01) and End Date (day of month, e.g., 07), plus Start Time and End Time. The suppression is active on those date ranges each month.
      Monthly — Specific day Select an Occurrence (First, Second, Third, Fourth, Last) and a Day (Sunday–Saturday), then set Start Time and End Time.

  3. Click the Health Rule Scope tab:
    1. To limit the scope to specific health rules, click the + (Add) icon.
      Note: By default, all health rules are suppressed unless you select specific ones.
    2. In the Health Rule Selection dialog, select the desired health rules. You can also use the search field or filter icon to find health rules.
    3. Click Select Health Rule(s) to confirm your selection.

  4. Save the suppression.
  5. Click the Create button at the bottom-right of the dialog.
The new suppression appears in the Health Rule Suppression listing table with its configured schedule and status.

Manage Health Rule Suppression

Edit or delete an existing health rule suppression.

Update Health Rule Suppression

To update a health rule suppression, select it from the list view and click the Edit icon.

Delete Health Rule Suppression

To delete a health rule suppression, select it from the list view and click the Delete icon.
