Workload

Set up health rules for the Workload entity type within the Affected Entities section.

Configure the following settings in the Affected Entities section to define the scope of your health rule.

  1. Select Workload in the Select Health Rule Type field.
  2. Select a workload type from the Select workload type dropdown menu.

    Available options include:

    • Deployment
    • ReplicaSet
    • StatefulSet
    • Jobs
    • CronJob
    • DaemonSet
  3. Choose the scope in the Select what [workload type] this Health Rule affects section.
    • All [workload type] in the Account: Select this to apply the rule to every available workload of that type across the environment.

    • The specified [workload type]: Use the arrows to move the desired workload names from the Available column to the Selected column.

    • [Workload type] matching the following criteria: Use the Name field to filter for specific workload names.

    • [workload type] in specified parent entities: Choose a parent entity (cluster or namespace) then move the required items from the Available column to the Selected column.

  4. Optional: Select Evaluate based on Pod metric to use pod-level metrics for the health rule evaluation.

Ensure you specify the pod health rule criteria in the Critical Criteria tab when choosing this option.

Note: The Metric Selection window displays all metrics applicable at the pod level when you click Select a Metric with this option enabled. This ensures health rule evaluation at the pod level while the system reports the event at the selected parent level. Deselecting Evaluate based on Pod metric displays metrics applicable at the specified workload level instead.
