Support Advisory: Execution of Browser Synthetic Monitoring Jobs in Linux-Based Agents
This document describes the support advisory for an AppDynamics product.
Summary
Starting April 25, 2023, Browser Synthetic monitoring jobs running in the following Azure locations will be executed in Linux-based agents instead of Windows-based agents.
- Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands (new)
- Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (new)
- Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (new)
- San Antonio, Texas, United States (new)
- Toronto, Ontario, Canada (new)
The following table lists the browsers where the Synthetic monitoring jobs will run:

Impact

Some of the scripted jobs might fail with the script broken error or timeout error while executing the jobs in Linux-based agents. |
The impacted jobs will be automatically reverted back to the Windows-based agent after the first failed session. AppDynamics will notify customers about their failed jobs. |
Update the scripts to fix the failed jobs and then inform AppDynamics to execute those jobs in Linux-based agents. |

The response time of some jobs might change while executing the jobs in the Headless Chrome agent in Linux-based agents. | No action. |
Fine-tune your current timeout and alerting configurations. |

The jobs might fail with the "DNS resolution failed" error. |
The impacted jobs will be automatically reverted back to the Windows-based agent after the first failed session. AppDynamics will notify customers about their failed jobs. |
Update the new IPs of the Linux-based Azure locations if IP allowlisting is required. The new outgoing IPs of the five Azure locations are listed at Synthetic Hosted Agent. |
