What does the Catalog show me?

The Catalog in Splunk Cloud Platform shows you the connections, datasets, and Machine Data Lake promotion jobs that you can access.

The Catalog is organized into multiple tabs:

  • The Datasets tab displays the datasets that you can search, analyze, and manage. For more information, see Datasets.

  • The Promotion jobs tab displays the Machine Data Lake promotion jobs used to create analytics tables and Splunk indexes from subsets of raw data. For more information, see Promotion jobs.

  • The Connections tab displays the connections that you can use in federated datasets to access remote data stores. For more information, see Connections.
