By leveraging your current Splunk Cloud Platform environment, you can now explore, monitor, and troubleshoot your infrastructure with minimal friction.

Prerequisites

Free Splunk Observability Cloud trials are only available to select Splunk Cloud Platform customers.

A Splunk Cloud Platform admin must initiate and administer the free trial of Splunk Observability Cloud.

Discovery and initiation

To find and initiate a free Splunk Observability Cloud trial, a Splunk Cloud Platform admin must do the following:

  1. Log in to your Splunk Cloud Platform environment as an admin and go the Discover Splunk Observability Cloud app in the main navigation menu.

  2. Select Start Trial for Splunk Observability Cloud.

Automated provisioning

The system automatically provisions your new Splunk Observability Cloud organization.

The system uses Unified Identity (UID) to honor your existing Splunk Cloud Platform roles and permissions, ensuring a secure and consistent access experience.

The system detects your current Splunk Cloud Platform region to optimally configure the trial environment.

Onboarding and use case selection

After logging into your new Observability environment, the trial guides you through a simple selection process. From the following options, choose the observability use case that best fits your current needs:

  • Kubernetes (k8s): Monitor your clusters, pods, and nodes.

  • Host Monitoring: Gain visibility into your Linux/Unix or Windows infrastructure.
