Change the Controller administrator password

Use appdcli controller password to reset the Controller tenant administrator password.

Use this procedure to change the Controller tenant password. Open a terminal on the appliance.
Note: Change Controller passwords only with appdcli controller password. Changing a password in the Controller UI is not supported.
  1. Run the command for the user whose password you want to change:
    CODE 
    appdcli controller password [--user admin|root|monitoring]
  2. Note the current password displayed under Password:
  3. When prompted to change the password, enter yes.
  4. Enter the new administrator password twice.
  5. Confirm that the command displays that the password change completed.
    CODE 
    Controller Tenant Administrator password change completed.

If the command fails to change the password, rerun the command, it detects the current Controller password and completes the remaining steps.

Sign in to the Controller UI using the changed password.
