View Tier and Node Dashboards

In Tiers & Nodes, select a tier or node and click Details. The tier and node dashboards contain a flow map view at the tier or node level, including widgets for health statuses, load time, response time, and errors. The Memory tab shows memory information relevant to your application environment. Note that the specific information shown for each environment can vary, depending on the environment. PHP memory management is different than other languages. The relevant memory metrics supplied by the App Agent for PHP are in the Metric Browser.

Cross Application Tier and BT Visibility

In the Tier Flow Map view and Business Transaction dashboard, you can view business transactions and tiers across application boundaries. You can:

  • view and navigate to different applications without losing the flow map context.

  • use the Expand into tiers option to trace upstream and downstream business transactions and tiers from external applications, providing end-to-end transaction flow for faster troubleshooting.

Additionally, you can also view application business transactions for the selected duration by:

  • clicking an application in the Application Dashboard and selecting Business Transactions.
  • clicking a tier from the Tier Flow Map view and selecting Business Transactions.

In the Tiers & Nodes dashboard, consider that you have the following tier flow map in your environment:

When you have multiple tiers communicating with different applications, it sometimes becomes a cumbersome process to identify the right applications and tiers that you want to identify, monitor, and troubleshoot. According to the example image, consider that you want to view if AD-Ecommerce-Fulfillment tier has any anomalies. In this scenario, you can click Expand into tiers to have a visibility of services across different applications. After you click Expand into tiers, you can see an icon as shown in the following example:

Double-click to navigate to the application tier dashboard. After navigating to the tier, you can right-click and select the collapse option to collapse the expanded tier.

You can access application business transactions by clicking the flow line representing either the incoming or outgoing cross-application call, and then selecting the Business Transactions tab.
