To define the health rule, perform the following from the Alert & Respond page:
Note:

You can use the predefined health rules for workload and pod entities. See Predefined Health Rules for Kubernetes Entities.

You do not require to perform the following steps when using the predefined health rules.

  1. Click Health Rules either in the right pane or the left navigation pane.
  2. Select the context for the health rule as Kubernetes from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the + icon to create a new health rule.
  4. In the Overview tab, specify the required details. For more information, see Create a Health Rule.
  5. Click Affected Entities tab.
  6. Select a health rule type from the drop-down list. Depending on the type of the health rule, you can configure the corresponding affected entities. For using each option, see Affected Entities for a Health Rule.
  7. Specify the critical or warning criteria, then save the health rule.

For more information about the Critical or warning criteria, see Configure Health Rule Evaluation Criteria.

Note: If the Evaluate based on Pod metric checkbox is selected in the Affected Entities section for Cluster Name or Workload, the Cluster or Workload health depends on the pod metrics. Therefore the Cluster or Workload is healthy only when certain criteria of pod is satisfied. The criteria is definedin the Warning Criteria or Critical Criteria tabs.
