Add components

In the Add components page, review the initial Collector components added from the starting configuration you selected in the previous step. You can keep these components, edit or remove them, and add new receivers, processors, or exporters that the template uses.

To add a component:

1. Select +Add component button.

2. Select a Component type and a corresponding Component from the available inventory.

   Component Type	Description	Component examples
   Receiver	Defines how the collector ingests telemetry data.	OTLP, Kafka, Mongodb, MySQL, and NGINX
   Processor	Defines how the collector processes telemetry data before export.	Batch, Filter, Attributes, and Redaction.
   Exporter	Defines where the collector sends processed telemetry data.	Splunk HEC, OTLP, and Debug.

3. Enter the optional fields for the selected component.

4. Select Save to add the component to the template.

After they complete the component inventory, they select Next to continue to build pipelines.
