Set the default organization for a Splunk Observability Cloud multi-org environment

Set the default Splunk Observability Cloud connection for your Splunk Cloud Platform instance in a multi-org environment.

When Splunk Cloud Platform administrators configure multiple Splunk Observability Cloud organizations for Unified Identity in Splunk Cloud Platform, it is important to intentionally set a default observability organization. The default organization provides the observability data displayed in Related Content and dashboarding with observability metric-based charts and service maps.

Set the default observability organization

To set a default observability organization, a Splunk Cloud Platform administrator must do the following:
  1. Log in to Splunk Cloud Platform as an admin and go to the Discover Splunk Observability Cloud app.

  2. On the Configuration tab, find the list of organizations in the Connect a Splunk Observability Cloud organization section.

  3. In the Action column, select the three-dot menu next to the organization you want to set as the default organization, and then select Make default from the drop-down list. Confirm your selection.

The organization you select as the default organization provides observability data to Related Content, and observability metrics-based charts and service maps in Dashboard Studio.
