A RUM Token is a common unit of measure for consumption of Real User Monitoring products during each 12 calendar month period in a License Term, with the first such period beginning on the start date of the relevant License Term; one Pageview consumes one RUM Token, and deployment of one Active Agent consumes 160 RUM Tokens per month.
Note: Network requests do not impact the consumption of RUM Tokens.This table provides an example of RUM Token usage by active RUM agents to help illustrate the consumption over three months:

Raw page requests, sessions, and resources are retained as Event Data with a default limit of 100 GB per Controller Tenant per day for each Event Data type.
Warning: Splunk AppDynamics reserves the right to drop customer traffic if the foregoing limitation is exceeded by the end user. - Customers may also choose to store raw Ajax or other events requests as Event Data if they also have access to Analytics, and every 5 requests stored consumes one Page view.
- Event Data is retained for 8 days. Additional retention of Event Data for 30, 60, or 90 days is available as an add-on at additional cost and requires the purchase of Splunk AppDynamics Browser Analytics.
- Resource Performance data is retained for 6 days. JavaScript Error Source File and Source Map data are retained for 90 days.
Mobile Real User Monitoring
Pro Edition
- Instrument 5,000 Active Agents per calendar month and access the Splunk AppDynamics-hosted EUM Cloud and Splunk AppDynamics-hosted Events Service. A maximum of 500 fields of the following types are available on the event service as Event Data Type: network requests, sessions, errors, and crashes.
- Each Event Data Type has a usage limit of 100 GB per Controller Tenant per day. Crash reports are retained for 365 days, code issues are retained for 30 days, and all other Event Data is retained for 8 days. Additional retention of Event Data for 30, 60, or 90 days is available as an add-on at additional cost and requires the purchase of Splunk AppDynamics Mobile Analytics.
Browser Analytics
Add-on with Browser Real User Monitoring Pro Edition.

Session Replay
Add-on
Session Replay is an add-on license available for the packages: RUM Peak, Browser RUM-Pro, Browser RUM-Peak, Mobile RUM-Pro, and Mobile RUM-Peak.

Each license supports up to 10,000 Session Replays.

Only the video recording time is counted towards license usage; idle time is excluded.

One Session Replay license is consumed for each video recording (excluding idle time) up to five minutes in length. For example, a recording of six minutes would consume two Session Replay licenses.

License Usage: The same SKU applies to both browser and mobile Session Replays.

Storage: Unlimited

Data Retention: Session Replay data is retained for up to 30 days.
Note: Data retention is limited to the shorter period between your primary package and Session Replay. For example, if your primary package retains data for 8 days, Session Replay data is retained for 8 days. If you have a 60-day retention package, Session Replay data is still retained for a maximum of 30 days.
Browser Synthetic and Synthetic API Monitoring - Hosted Agent
Pro Edition
- 40,000 units of 5-second synthetic time blocks (STBs) on the Splunk AppDynamics' hosted synthetic platform per calendar month for use between Browser Synthetic Monitoring and Synthetic API Monitoring. Any unused seconds will not roll over to the next calendar month.
- Browser Synthetic Monitoring is metered in 5-second increments (i.e., 1 STB). Each Browser Synthetic Monitoring job is rounded up to the next 5-second STB.
- Synthetic API Monitoring is metered in 1-second increments.
- Access to Business Performance Monitoring features on the synthetic Events Data, which will be retained for a period of 13 months from the date on which the applicable synthetics Events Data is collected.
- Access to the EUM Cloud and Events Service.
Browser Synthetic or Synthetic API Monitoring - Private Agent - Per Location
Pro Edition
- You are entitled to use either Browser Synthetic Monitoring or Synthetic API Monitoring for each license you purchased.
- For Browser Synthetic Monitoring, you are entitled to run 1 synthetic job that hits 1 page from 1 location. Browser Synthetic Monitoring supports a minimum frequency execution of 5 minutes. A synthetic job that fails to hit any pages is counted as 1 page.
- For Synthetic API Monitoring, you are entitled to run 1 synthetic job that hits 1 API from 1 location. Synthetic API Monitoring supports a minimum frequency execution of 1 minute.
- Access to Business Performance Monitoring features on the synthetic Events Data, which will be retained for a period of 13 months from the date on which the applicable synthetics Events Data is collected.
- Access to the EUM Cloud and Events Service.
Browser Synthetic or Synthetic API Monitoring - Private Agent - Unlimited Locations
Pro Edition
- You are entitled to use either Browser Synthetic Monitoring or Synthetic API Monitoring for each license you purchased.
- For Browser Synthetic Monitoring, you are entitled to run 1 synthetic job that hits 1 page from any number of locations. Browser Synthetic Monitoring supports a minimum frequency execution of 5 minutes. You are limited to 500,000 Page views per calendar month per license unit, and any unused Page views will not roll over to the next calendar month. A synthetic job that fails to hit any pages is counted as 1 page.

IoT for Connected Devices
Peak Edition
- Ability to instrument 1,000 application instances that are embedded on a connected device (or multiple devices) per calendar month.
- Access to the Splunk AppDynamics-hosted Events Service, with a data maximum of 100 GB per account per day.
- You shall be entitled to use Splunk AppDynamics for IoT only if you have at least 100,000 application instances that are:
- Embedded on a connected device (or multiple devices);
- Eligible to be instrumented Splunk AppDynamics for IoT, only available to SaaS customers; and
- Actively in use by your end users.
- An "eligible" application instance is an application that can be instrumented using Splunk AppDynamics' C/C++ SDK, Java SDK, or Splunk AppDynamics Rest APIs (each for IoT).
- Event Data is retained for 8 days. Additional retention of Event Data for 30, 60, or 90 days is available as an add-on at an additional cost.
