Version selection
We understand that navigating our new portal and managing product versioning might feel a bit different at first. To help you get started, here’s how you can find the information you need:
Our portal hosts documentation for multiple versions of our products, and you can use the version selector to choose the product version relevant to you. For most products, the version selector allows you to choose the major.minor version (such as 9.4) instead of every major.minor.maintenance version (such as 9.4.1 and 9.4.2).
- When you select a major.minor version (like 9.4), it includes details for all related maintenance releases (such as 9.4.1 and 9.4.2).You won't need to navigate separately for each maintenance release.
- For example, all relevant updates and documentation for 9.4.1 and 9.4.2 is organized under version 9.4.
Release notes are the most commonly updated pages for maintenance releases. Here are a few examples to show how we'll provide information on known and fixed issues for each release.

In Splunk Enterprise, the configuration files also can change from maintenance release to maintenance release. We'll provide the configuration file reference for every maintenance release, just like we've always done.
Configuration file reference
We heard your feedback regarding the layout of the Splunk Enterprise configuration file reference pages. We've developed a new layout that delivers the format you're accustomed to from past releases and have deployed it in all versions of Splunk Enterprise documentation.
Share your feedback
Your feedback has always been a pillar of Splunk documentation, and that hasn't changed. We invite you to explore this documentation portal and share any feedback about your experience.
Thank you for being an integral part of our documentation journey!
