Deploy containers to Edge Hubs

After creating a container configuration, deploy it to one or more Edge Hubs.

Deploy to a single Edge Hub

  1. Navigate to the Containers page and click on your container configuration.
  2. In the side panel, select an Edge Hub from the Available Hubs list.
  3. Click Deploy to start the deployment.

Deploy to multiple Edge Hubs

  1. Navigate to the Containers page and click on your container configuration.
  2. In the side panel, click Deploy.
  3. In the deployment modal, perform the following tasks:
    1. Use the search field to filter Edge Hubs by name.
    2. Select multiple Edge Hubs using the checkboxes.
    3. Click Select All to choose all visible hubs.
  4. (Optional) Enable Override Configuration to customize settings for this deployment:
    1. Toggle Override Configuration to Yes.
    2. Modify the JSON configuration as needed.
    3. Changes apply to all selected hubs for this deployment.
    4. Click Deploy to start the deployment process.

Monitor deployment progress

After initiating deployment, perform the following steps to monitor the progress of your deployment:

  1. Navigate to Edge Manager and select an Edge Hub.
  2. Click the Containers tab to view container status.
  3. Review the following statuses to monitor the deployment status:
    • Deploying: Container configuration is being sent to the hub.
    • Ready: Container is created but not running.
    • Running: Container is actively running.
    • Error: Deployment or runtime error occurred.
