Configure your Edge Hub Ethernet network
To configure your Edge Hub network for Ethernet, follow these steps:
Prerequisites
- Register your Splunk Edge Hub. See Register or unregister your Splunk Edge Hub.
- Complete the steps at Access the Edge Hub Advanced Settings page.
- In the Splunk Edge Hub Advanced Settings page, navigate to the Network configuration tab.
- Specify your configuration using the following options:
Option | Description |

IP assignment | You can choose either DHCP and Manual (static IP) .

IPv4 address | Displays the current IP address of the Edge Hub. This field should be formatted according to the CIDR notation. You can configure the IPv4 address by selecting Manual mode under DNS Server Selection .

Gateway | Displays the IP address of the gateway the Edge Hub is connected to. |
DNS Server Selection | Select Automatic or Manual .

DNS servers | Displays the current list of DNS servers associated with this connection. You can add additional DNS server in Manual mode using Add row
|
DNS priority | Set to Low , Medium , High . If multiple connections are active, the DNS server from the connection with the highest DNS priority is used. The default is Medium .

Routing priority | Set to Low , Medium , High . If multiple connections are active, the network traffic is routed to the connection with the highest priority.
Note: The default priority for
Ethernet is High, the default priority for WiFi is Medium , and the default priority for Cellular is a Low . |
Last connection | Displays the local time of the last successful Ethernet connection, if applicable. |
Status message | A message at the bottom of the page that displays the current connectivity:

Update Now | The currently displayed configuration will be applied now. |
Update on Finish | The currently displayed configuration will be saved, but will only be applied after disconnecting from the server specified in Advanced Settings by clicking the Finish Registration button.

Revert | Discards any changes specified in the UI and reverts to the current status of the connection. Deletes the configuration if the configuration has been saved, but not applied. For example, the configuration might have been saved, but not applied, if you clicked Update on Finish .
