View normalized query details for a span

Note: This feature requires a Database Monitoring license and correlation between database queries and APM traces. For configuration instructions, see Correlate database queries with APM traces.

This feature is only supported for .NET applications hosted on Microsoft SQL Server databases.

Complete the following steps to view normalized query details for a span.
  1. In the Splunk Observability Cloud main menu, select APM, then Trace analyzer.

  2. From the table of traces, select a Trace ID.

  3. Select a span hosted on a supported database to view the Normalized Query Details panel, which displays an overview of normalized query metrics.

  4. Select View normalized query to display the full panel with normalized query data. For more information on using this panel, see Query details.
