Using the Help portal

How to use this portal for the Welcome page.

We understand that navigating this Help portal and managing product versioning is different. Here's how you can find the information you need.

Searching the site

To search the documentation, select from the product tiles on the homepage or use the search bar.

You can use Boolean operators, such as AND, OR, and NOT, to filter your search in addition to the filters available on the search results page. For example, the following search looks for scenario documentation for Splunk Enterprise Security:
scenario AND "Enterprise Security"

Selecting versions

This Help portal hosts documentation for multiple versions of products, and you can use the version selector to choose the product version relevant to you. For most products, the version selector allows you to choose the major.minor version, such as 9.4, instead of every major.minor.maintenance version, such as 9.4.1 and 9.4.2.

  • When you select a major.minor version, like 9.4, it includes details for all related maintenance releases, such as 9.4.1 and 9.4.2. You don't need to navigate separately for each maintenance release.
  • As an example, all relevant updates and documentation for 9.4.1 and 9.4.2 is organized under version 9.4.
Note: Some versions are not yet available.

Release notes are the most commonly updated pages for maintenance releases. Here are a few examples to show how you can find information on known and fixed issues for each release.

Splunk Enterprise 9.4 known issues are shown under the 9.4 version selector:

Known issues for Splunk Enterprise 9.4.0, 9.4.1, and 9.4.2 are shown under the 9.4 version selector.

Splunk Enterprise 9.4 fixed issues are shown under the 9.4 version selector:
