Release notes for September 2025.

Splunk Observability Cloud released the following new features and enhancements in September 2025. This is not an exhaustive list of changes in the Splunk Observability Cloud ecosystem. For a detailed breakdown of changes in versioned components, see the list of changelogs.

Navigation enhancements	The left navigation panel now includes navigation sub-menus and updated terminology to improve clarity. These changes are designed to align with user workflows, support our growing portfolio, and enable quicker access to key capabilities. Application Performance Monitoring	Collect call stack traces, visualize method execution, and optimize application performance with Call Graph Profiling. 	Monitor business transaction performance and troubleshoot issues with services in your application environment using the business transaction view. For more information, see: Access the business transaction view Analyze business transaction performance with the business transaction view This release renames business workflows to business transactions.
	Monitor services with the following service map enhancements: Monitor service health in the service map View alerts for a service in the service map Group services in the service map Search the service map For an example scenario on using these service map enhancements, see Monitor and proactively troubleshoot issues in an application environment using the service map.
	View and monitor instances related to services in the service view. See View instances related to your service.
Custom roles	Custom roles now contains all possible capabilities in Splunk Observability Cloud. Admins manage custom roles in Splunk Cloud Platform. See Custom roles in Splunk Observability Cloud for the complete list of capabilities.	September 30, 2025
Metrics Finder React Migration	Redesigned the metrics finder user interface to include more access to metric components, contexts, and utility functions. To learn more, see Search the Metric Finder and Metadata Catalog.	September 30, 2025
Splunk RUM	This release includes Splunk RUM browser agent v1.0.0. To upgrade to this agent, see Upgrade to Splunk RUM browser agent version 1.0.0.	September 30, 2025
Splunk RUM	Deprecation notice for the First Input Delay (FID) metric from Google Core Web Vitals: On November 15, 2025, the Splunk RUM browser data model will no longer include `rum.webvitals.fid`. It already includes the Interaction to Next Paint (INP) metric from Google Core Web Vitals instead. This metric is named `rum.webvitals_inp.time.ns.p75` at the application level, and `rum.node.rum.webvitals_inp.time.ns.p75` at the page level.	September 30, 2025
