Enable Splunk AppDynamics Related Content in Kubernetes navigators

Note:

This feature is only available on the Kubernetes pods and workloads navigators. On the workloads navigator, Related Content is only supported for deployment and StatefulSet instances.

To enable Splunk AppDynamics Related Content on supported Kubernetes navigators, you must be a Splunk Observability Cloud admin.

Complete the following high-level steps to enable Splunk AppDynamics Related Content.

  1. Ensure that you meet the prerequisites.
  2. Link your Splunk AppDynamics tenant to Splunk Observability Cloud.

Prerequisites

To enable Splunk AppDynamics Related Content, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Your Splunk Observability Cloud account uses the same region as your Splunk AppDynamics tenant.

  • Splunk AppDynamics requirements:
  • Splunk Observability Cloud requirements:

    • You have the admin role in Splunk Observability Cloud.
    • You have set up the Splunk Distribution of the OpenTelemetry Collector to collect Kubernetes data. To set up the Collector independently, see Collect Kubernetes data.

Link your Splunk AppDynamics tenant to Splunk Observability Cloud

Describes how to link your Splunk AppDynamics tenant to Splunk Observability Cloud as an amin.

Complete the following steps to link your Splunk AppDynamics tenant to Splunk Observability Cloud.

  1. From the Splunk Observability Cloud main menu, select Settings, then AppDynamics Connection.
  2. Select + Splunk AppDynamics.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to link your Splunk AppDynamics tenant.
  4. Log back into Splunk Observability Cloud. The AppDynamics Connection page displays the new connection.
