Install Splunk AI Assistant for SPL for Splunk Cloud customers

You can download Splunk AI Assistant from Splunkbase and install it on your activated cloud stack. You cannot install Splunk AI Assistant as a private app when downloaded from Splunkbase and uploaded.

After downloading, you can install Splunk AI Assistant with the in-product app browser. The command line interface (CLI) is not required. When using the in-product app browser search by "AI Assistant" to find the listing for Splunk AI Assistant as shown in the following image:

You can install Splunk AI Assistant on a single search head or a search head cluster. Splunk AI Assistant is also supported on premium product search heads such as Splunk Enterprise Security or Splunk ITSI.

Both Classic and Victoria Experience customers can self-install Splunk AI Assistant without restarting. See Install apps on your Splunk Cloud Platform deployment.

Once installed Splunk AI Assistant runs as a separate component of Splunk Cloud Platform (SCP) called AI Service. All AI compute data is offloaded to this AI Service. For more information, see Where Splunk AI Assistant runs.

You can upgrade to the current version of Splunk AI Assistant from any 1.0.x version.
