Description of user session details in RUM.
This feature is in a Controlled Availability release. It's enabled for select customers in Splunk realms eu0, us0, and us1 only.
In the Controlled Availability release stage, Splunk products may have limitations on customer access, features, maturity, and regional availability. For additional information on Controlled Availability please contact your Splunk representative.
Understand user sessions
Select one of the sessions from the Session Search page to view a summary of key session details.
View session attributes
The session ID, start time, duration, client and OS details are summarized on the session details page. To view additional session attributes, select the gear icon at the top right corner of the page and select the related attributes (for example, App Errors) that you are interested in. The selected attributes will appear on the page.
View session replay and troubleshooting data
View events from the session replay in the Session Events section, and navigate between session events. When you select a specific event in the session from the events list, you can view event details, such as the number of errors, and a list of spans captured for the current page. These details update based on the specific events occurring per page that you select.
Select a span from the list to view a parsed or raw view of the span details. The raw view displays all the logs available for that span. When you pause the session replay, the last relevant span is also highlighted in the list of span details. Additionally, if a span includes APM data, you can view the span performance summary and drill down to the related trace.
Filter span details
To filter the list of spans:
-
At the top of the span list, select Span type and the types of spans that you want to filter, and Min Duration to set the minimum span duration.
-
Select the APM filter to filter this list by spans that do or do not have APM data available.
-
Use the text box to filter spans by a specific keyword, for example, img.
