AI Canvas in Splunk landing page

Access the AI Canvas landing page in Splunk, explore sample prompts and board libraries, manage existing boards, and configure archived boards and notification settings.

To access the AI Canvas in Splunk landing page, do the following:

  1. Log in to Splunk as a user with the mcp_tool_execute and show_ai_canvas capabilities. It is assumed that the other prerequisites to access AI Canvas in Splunk have been met.

  2. Upon initial login, the login page displays Splunk terms of service. Review the terms, select the I accept these terms checkbox, then click Ok.

  3. A Cisco email verification screen displays. In the Email field, enter your email address. Click Next.

    Note: If you click Skip for now and do not complete email verification, you can still access AI Canvas in Splunk. However, you will not be able to use the AI Canvas assistant to create visualizations or SPL queries. To re-initiate the email verification flow, log out and log in again.
  4. Check your inbox for an email that contains your activation code. Note that the email sender is Cisco Webex.

    Copy the code in the email and paste it in to the verification page. Click Next to continue logging into Splunk.

  5. In the Apps pane, click Search & Reporting.

  6. In the left pane, click the AI Canvas icon. The AI Canvas landing page loads.

The top of the AI Canvas landing page may display a selection of sample prompts under categories such as Network Intelligence and Security & Compliance and Board Libraries, which include example AI Canvas boards that include a selection of prompts related to their focus, such as network health.

The remainder of the page lists existing AI Canvas boards. You can access options to rename, duplicate, and archive each board. You can click a board name to open that board.

When a user who does not have the required capabilities attempts to access the AI Canvas landing page, they see the following screen.

Configure settings

  1. From the AI Canvas landing page, click Settings in the top right corner.

  2. By default, Settings opens to the Archived tab. If you have archived any boards, they display here. You can restore or permanently delete archived boards.

  3. On the Notifications tab, you can configure email notifications.

  4. Click Save.
