Install Splunk AI Assistant for SPL for Splunk Cloud customers

You can download Splunk AI Assistant for SPL from Splunkbase and install it on your activated cloud stack. You cannot install Splunk AI Assistant for SPL as a private app when downloaded from Splunkbase and uploaded.

After downloading, you can install Splunk AI Assistant for SPL with the in-product app browser. The command line interface (CLI) is not required. When using the in-product app browser search by "AI Assistant" to find the listing for Splunk AI Assistant for SPL as shown in the following image:

You can install Splunk AI Assistant for SPL on a single search head or a search head cluster. Splunk AI Assistant for SPL is also supported on premium product search heads such as Splunk Enterprise Security or Splunk ITSI.

Both Classic and Victoria Experience customers can self-install Splunk AI Assistant for SPL without restarting. See Install apps on your Splunk Cloud Platform deployment.

Once installed Splunk AI Assistant for SPL runs as a separate component of Splunk Cloud Platform (SCP) called AI Service. All AI compute data is offloaded to this AI Service. For more information, see Where Splunk AI Assistant for SPL runs.

You can upgrade to the current version of Splunk AI Assistant for SPL from any 1.0.x version.
