Update Tags

Tags represent the individual data points or metrics available from the connected OPC UA server. Updating tags ensures that the Splunk Edge Hub is subscribed to the correct set of metrics for ingestion into the Splunk platform.

Complete the following steps to update tags for an OPC UA connection:

  1. Fill out the connection details for the OPC UA server.
  2. Select Update Tag
  3. Modify the Max Depth value to control how far into the tag hierarchy you want to retrieve. Note: 0 = Retrieve the entire hierarchy.
  4. Select the Hub you want to request tags from, then choose Request Tags from Hubs. Note: If you are updating Cisco Confidential tags for a specific hub configuration, you don't need to change the hub selection.
  5. Wait for the loading bar to complete, then browse and select the tags you want to include.
  6. Save changes to apply the updated tag list to the Splunk Edge Hub.
