Configure Sampling for Mobile Applications

When you configure the session-based or error sampling to monitor your mobile application, the Controller collects the necessary metrics and events based on the samples. This sampling helps you to optimize the storage. You can configure the percentage of session sampling in the Controller UI. The session-based samples are evenly distributed among views and network requests.

.

Configure Session Sampling

  1. Open the mobile application for which you want to configure session-based sampling.
  2. On the navigation bar, select Configuration.
  3. Click Sampling.
  4. In Ingestion Sampling, specify the percentage.
The Controller considers only the percentage of sessions as samples to display metrics and events. For example, if the session sampling is set to 50%, the Controller displays the metrics and events based on the 50% of session samples. You can enable the rules for session sampling by specifying application versions and OS versions.
  5. Click Save.

Configure Error Sampling

  1. Open the mobile application for which you want to configure session-based sampling.
  2. On the navigation bar, select Configuration.

  4. In Ingestion Sampling, specify the percentage.
The Controller considers only the percentage of errors as samples to display metrics and events. To monitor error samples, do not select the Sample Errors option.
  5. Click Save.
