AI Agent Monitoring

This release introduces the AI Agent Monitoring feature that provides end-to-end visibility of the large language model (LLM) based applications. You can monitor applications, infrastructure, databases, and GenAI workloads in a single view, with key insights into token consumption, request volume, and latency. With this feature, you can:

  • benefit from enhanced flowmaps, transaction snapshots, vector database monitoring, and GPU resource tracking.
  • correlate LLM activity with business transactions, detect anomalies, and quickly identify performance issues to ensure optimal AI model efficiency and resource utilization.

Anomaly Detection

You can now use the following anomaly violation API to fetch a list of all the anomaly violations and suspected causes for an application:

GET <controller_url>/controller/anomaly/rest/api/v1/applications/{applicationId}/anomalies

Alerting

For a business transaction anomaly and a database anomaly, you can now view the issue summary and actionable recommendations generated by AI. AppDynamics SaaS uses AI to correlate all the metrics associated with an anomaly and generates comprehensive summaries of the issue and the top three suspected causes, which helps you to understand the issue better. It ranks the top three suspected causes and provides recommendations on how to resolve the issue. This saves your time because you do not need to manually correlate various metrics by referring to multiple dashboards within the Controller to understand the issue. This enhanced anomaly detection provides a better user experience and information access to reduce the mean time needed to detect the root cause and resolve the issue.

Alerting

For creating health rules, you can now use the new baseline Adaptive Weekly Trend - Last 3 Month. The adaptive baseline configuration is designed to provide more robust and reliable health rule evaluation by minimizing the impact of outliers in metrics data. Unlike traditional dynamic baselines, which can be significantly skewed by sudden spikes or anomalies, the adaptive baseline caps the effect of such outliers, maintaining a more accurate reference point for health rule evaluation.

Controller

When you right click and select Drill Down into Call Graph on any Potential Issues of a snapshot, it opens a new tab that displays the call graph that was selected in the snapshot. This functionality is unsupported for errors. The drill-down auto-selects the call graph with the Slow and Slow HTTP in the new tab, whereas for the error type of calls the slowest call is selected by default.

Licensing

On the License Summary dashboard, you can now view the session replay license usage information for a time period. This session replay license usage comprises the license usage count for browser session replay and mobile session replay. Based on this information, you can:

  • allocate license for browser real user monitoring and mobile real user monitoring applications.

  • estimate the license required for applications based on consumption.

  • plan license purchases during renewals.

In Metric Browser, you can view the following session replay license metrics:

  • Limit (License Units)

  • Limit (Sessions) - applicable for only Agent-based Licensing accounts

  • Usage (License Units)

  • Usage (Sessions) - applicable for only Agent-based Licensing accounts

  • Browser Session (Count) - applicable for only Infrastructure-based Licensing accounts

  • Mobile Session (Count) - applicable for only Infrastructure-based Licensing accounts

You can use these metrics to create health rules and policies and get alerts when your session replay license metrics exceed the threshold. For more information, see Alerts for License Metrics.

Licensing

For the Infrastructure-based Licenses accounts, the delayed fallback mode is now enhanced and enabled by default to avoid license usage spikes and loss of information from the rejected agents. When the system cannot detect its vCPU information, instead of rejecting the agents for few minutes before they start consuming fallback units, the agents are let in and register with 0 license units to report the data. If the vCPU count is still unknown after specified time (few minutes), they start consuming the fallback license units.

With this enhancement, the Allow agents to temporarily register with 0 units on hosts lacking vCPU information toggle is now enabled by default on the Create APM License Rule page. You can't disable this toggle. Previously, this toggle was called as WAIT FOR VCPU INFORMATION BEFORE REGISTERING AGENTS.

Licensing

In the Infrastructure-based Licensing accounts, you can now create license rules for End User Monitoring (EUM) to allocate the total license units among the Browser Real User Monitoring (BRUM) and Mobile Real User Monitoring (MRUM) applications based on your usage patterns. This feature helps you to efficiently manage the AppDynamics SaaS licenses in your applications.
