End of Support Notice: Python 3.8

This document announces the end of support (EOS) for interoperation between an AppDynamics product and Python 3.8.

What is being EOS?

AppDynamics will no longer support Python 3.8 for the Python Agent starting with version 26.2. This aligns with the Python Software Foundation's end-of-life designation for Python 3.8 on October 07, 2024. The official announcement is available: https://devguide.python.org/versions/.

When will it be EOS?

Support for Python 3.8 will be deprecated starting with the release of AppDynamics Python Agent version 26.2. Any support requests related to Python 3.8 received after this release will be handled at Cisco's sole discretion. Cisco may require customers to upgrade to a supported version of Python to resolve reported issues.

What workarounds do I have?

Upgrade Python runtime to higher major version, like Python 3.10 or above.
