End of Support Notice: Python 3.9

This document announces the end of support (EOS) for interoperation between an AppDynamics product and Python 3.9.

What is being EOS?

AppDynamics will no longer support Python 3.9 for the Python Agent starting with version 26.2. This aligns with the Python Software Foundation's end-of-life designation for Python 3.9 on October 31, 2025. The official announcement is available: https://devguide.python.org/versions/.

When will it be EOS?

Support for Python 3.9 for the AppDynamics Python Agent will be deprecated in AppDynamics Python Agent versions 26.2. Support requests related to Python 3.9 received after the 26.2 release will be handled at Cisco's sole discretion. Cisco may, at its discretion, request that customers upgrade to the latest version of Python.

What workarounds do I have?

Upgrade Python runtime to higher major version, like Python 3.10 or above.
